During a political public meeting in Chengalpet, Chennai, PWD Minister Aadhav Arjuna challenged former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin to a debate on B.R. Ambedkar. Speaking on Sunday, Aadhav also claimed that rival political parties DMK and AIADMK will soon merge.

The public meeting was organized by former AIADMK MLA Maragatham Kumaravel, who recently joined the TVK. The event was held to officially induct her supporters into the TVK party.

During his address, Aadhav questioned the DMK's historical stance on Ambedkar, asking if the party had ever spoken about him. He declared his readiness to debate the topic with Udhayanidhi on the same stage, challenging the former deputy chief minister to accept.

Aadhav launched an attack on both the DMK and AIADMK, alleging that they have entered into an alliance. He claimed that talks are currently underway within the AIADMK to promote Mithun, the son of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. According to Aadhav, a formal merger between the DMK and AIADMK will soon take place in the presence of Udhayanidhi and Mithun.

He added that AIADMK cadres have recognized these developments and are consequently joining the TVK every Saturday. While stating that the AIADMK and TVK are now the same, Aadhav remarked that party leader EPS is "sinking" and that TVK will ensure C. Joseph Vijay remains the permanent chief minister of Tamil Nadu.

Other leaders also addressed the gathering. State HR and CE Minister S. Ramesh stated that TVK cadres intend to make the assembly free of opposition by winning all 234 segments. State Revenue Minister K. A. Sengottaiyan predicted the disappearance of the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, claiming more MLAs and former ministers will join TVK. Rural Development Minister N. Anand also criticized the DMK, stating that TVK works for the welfare of all families rather than just one.
