Actor Divyenndu Telugu Debut in Peddi Fails to Create Expected Impact

Bollywood actor Divyenndu's highly anticipated Telugu cinema debut in the film 'Peddi' has failed to make a significant impact due to a limited character scope and minimal screen time, even as the actor toured theatres across Hyderabad on June 14, 2026.
Divyenndu, who gained immense popularity for his portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in the hit web series 'Mirzapur', entered the Telugu film industry with high expectations. Fans and industry insiders believed his intense screen presence would make him a strong addition to Tollywood's pan-Indian casting pool.
However, post-release feedback indicates that his debut was underwhelming. Although Divyenndu performed his role adequately, the character itself had restricted screen time, preventing the actor from securing the career breakthrough many had anticipated.
To establish a connection with the local audience, the makers hired Balu, the voice artist who dubbed Divyenndu's character in the Telugu version of 'Mirzapur', to voice his character, Ram Bujji, in 'Peddi'.
Despite the muted reception to his role, Divyenndu visited several cinema halls in Hyderabad on June 14, 2026, to gauge audience reactions firsthand. The actor stated that he was impressed by the response the film received from the theatergoers.
The film's release followed a massive promotional campaign, which included the 'Peddi Ki Aawaz' pre-release event. The event attracted over one lakh attendees and featured a live concert by music director AR Rahman and his band. During the event, actress Janhvi Kapoor spoke about the movie's theme, stating that it represents the nation's youth identity.
While his debut in 'Peddi' did not leave the expected mark, Divyenndu has already lined up his next Telugu project. He is set to appear in director Trivikram's upcoming film, 'Aadarsha Kutumbam', which features veteran actor Venkatesh.
