Airtel and Vi Expand Mobile Network Coverage to BKC on Mumbai Metro Line 3

Telecom operators Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have expanded their mobile network coverage on the underground Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, bringing improved connectivity to the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on June 11, 2026. The network expansion allows commuters to access mobile services while traveling through the underground corridor.
According to an update shared by Mumbai Metro 3, Airtel users can now access mobile network services from Aarey JVLR to the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). This ensures that passengers using the Airtel network can remain connected throughout this section of the underground line.
Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea (Vi) subscribers will also see an expansion in their coverage. Vi network services are now available from Aarey JVLR extending to Acharya Atre Chowk, providing connectivity across a longer stretch of the underground metro corridor.
The expansion is expected to enhance the travel experience for thousands of daily passengers. The upgrade will support uninterrupted mobile calls, high-speed internet access, messaging services, and digital payments during travel through the city's underground network.
This rollout is part of the phased implementation of telecom infrastructure across the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Metro-3 corridor. The Metro 3 line connects several key residential, commercial, and business districts of Mumbai, making mobile connectivity a crucial feature for the daily commute of passengers traveling along the route.
