The theatrical release of actor Akhil Akkineni's upcoming movie Lenin has been postponed from June 26, 2026, to July 10, 2026, following a request from music composer Thaman for additional time to complete the film's re-recording in Hyderabad.

The delay was initiated because Thaman had a scheduled concert in Hyderabad and required more time to manage both the live event and his work on the film's background score. In response, the producers agreed to push the movie's release date back by two weeks.

However, in an ironic turn of events, the Hyderabad concert, which was scheduled to take place on June 13, 2026, was canceled due to sudden rain and gusty winds in the city. Despite the cancellation of the event that prompted the delay, the film's new release date remains set for July 10.

This latest delay has caused frustration among fans, as Lenin has already suffered multiple postponements on its road to theatres.

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, who previously helmed Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, Lenin presents Akhil Akkineni in a rooted, rural role for the first time. The actor undergoes a raw makeover and speaks in a Chittoor dialect for the film. The makers recently unveiled a teaser for the film with the tagline "Manodu Vasthunnadu", which showcased the authentic rural backdrop of the Chittoor region.

The project is jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments. Actress Bhagyashri Borse stars as the female lead, having replaced Sreeleela after the first shooting schedule. Prominent actor Nagarjuna is reportedly highly confident about the film's success, which is seen as a crucial milestone for Akhil Akkineni's career.
