A 44-year-old man and his 16-year-old daughter died after being electrocuted in Telecom Colony, Alwal, Hyderabad, on Saturday morning. The incident occurred while the family was clearing fallen tree branches and rain debris outside their house, according to the local police.

The deceased have been identified as Sandeep and his daughter Rithika, who resided in Telecom Colony in the Alwal area. Sandeep's wife also suffered burn injuries during the incident.

According to the police, heavy rains had lashed the area on Friday night, causing tree branches to break and fall onto the road outside the family's home. On Saturday morning, the family went outside to clear the fallen branches from the road.

While clearing the debris, Sandeep and Rithika were electrocuted and collapsed. Both of them died on the spot. Sandeep's wife, who was also present at the scene, suffered burn injuries during the tragic accident.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the local police reached the spot in Telecom Colony. They shifted the bodies of Sandeep and Rithika to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations.

The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the deaths. Preliminary findings from the police suggest that electricity cables had snapped and fallen onto the road during the heavy rains last night. The police suspect that the father and daughter came into contact with these live wires while clearing the tree branches, resulting in their electrocution. Further details regarding the incident are currently awaited as the investigation continues.
