On Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana president N Ramchander Rao blamed the Congress-led state government for delays in the Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 project and the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) loan disbursement. Speaking to the media at the BJP headquarters in Hyderabad, Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of spreading lies and misleading the public regarding these key infrastructure initiatives.

Rao criticized a letter written by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, which sought assistance in securing an appointment with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Kumar Vaishnaw. Rao termed the letter "absurd," pointing out that the Chief Minister has previously had direct access to Union leadership.

According to the BJP state chief, Revanth Reddy has visited Delhi 71 times and met with various Union ministers at least 15 times since taking office. This includes five meetings with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding urban development and Metro-related issues, as well as three meetings with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, alongside several meetings held in Hyderabad.

Rao questioned why the Chief Minister would suddenly require Kishan Reddy's intervention to arrange such meetings now, especially when he has previously met with the Prime Minister multiple times. He dismissed the Chief Minister's claims that there are obstacles in meeting Union ministers, asserting that the letter was written solely to mislead the public.

Furthermore, Rao alleged that the Congress party has no real interest in infrastructure development and only has experience in scams and commission politics. He stated that the state government has failed to submit key technical documents for the Metro Phase-2 project, including the pre-feasibility report, financial feasibility report, and the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Rao clarified that the central government has not rejected the Metro Phase-2 project. Instead, he maintained that the current delay is entirely due to the state government's failure to provide the necessary documentation, rather than any opposition from the Centre.
