A 22-year-old woman from Sikkim was found murdered at her rented residence in Doddakannahalli, Bellandur, after her boyfriend allegedly slit her throat early on Sunday morning.

The victim, identified as Ati Hangma Subba, was working as a receptionist at a local salon in Bengaluru. According to the police, the accused is her boyfriend, Purba Lepcha, a hotel waiter who hails from Darjeeling.

Police officials stated that the accused suspected Subba's fidelity, which is believed to be the motive behind the attack.

Both Subba and Lepcha had moved to the city approximately one month ago in search of employment.

According to the police, the incident occurred inside their shared residence following a heated argument between the couple. During the confrontation, the accused allegedly used a kitchen knife to slit the victim's throat.

An investigation into the murder is currently underway, police said.
