Burglars Steal Cash and Gold Worth Lakhs From Two Locked Houses in Dundigal

Burglars targeted two locked houses near the Baurampet bus station in Dundigal on Thursday, decamping with gold jewelry and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The Dundigal police registered separate cases and initiated a detailed investigation after the victims reported the break-ins on June 12, 2026.
According to the local police, the first incident took place at the residence of N Ravi, located near the Baurampet bus station. Ravi and his wife had locked up their home to visit their daughter, who resides in Nizampet. Taking advantage of the empty house, the burglars broke open the lock of the main door. Once inside, they ransacked the property and stole approximately 3.5 tolas of gold jewelry alongside Rs 50,000 in cash.
The second burglary occurred in the same Dundigal locality at the residence of L Bhoomaiah Goud. The offenders broke into Goud's house and managed to locate a cupboard where cash was stored. They stole Rs 1.30 lakh in cash from the cupboard before fleeing the scene.
In addition to the two successful burglaries, the police revealed that the offenders also made attempts to break into two other nearby houses in the same neighborhood. However, those attempts were unsuccessful, and the burglars were unable to gain entry.
Following complaints lodged by the affected homeowners, the Dundigal police registered separate cases regarding the thefts. Officers have launched an official investigation to track down the offenders and recover the stolen cash and gold ornaments.
