Car Dealer and Friend Killed in Mercedes SUV Crash Near Hoskote

A late-night drive in a client's Mercedes-Benz SUV ended in a fatal accident near Hoskote after the vehicle crashed into a road divider on the Satellite Town Ring Road shortly after Friday midnight, resulting in the deaths of a car dealer and his friend.
The victims of the crash have been identified as 30-year-old Rizwan, a used car dealer who was driving the luxury SUV, and his companion, 23-year-old Saajiya, who was a resident of Kammanahalli in Bengaluru.
According to the police, the second-hand vehicle belonged to one of Rizwan’s clients, who had recently handed it over to him for resale purposes.
The crash occurred when the duo was returning towards Hoskote after driving towards Devanahalli for a late-night dinner. Near Doddahullur, which is located approximately one kilometre from the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, Rizwan reportedly lost control over the luxury SUV and slammed into the road divider with immense force.
The impact of the collision killed Saajiya on the spot inside the vehicle. Rizwan was thrown out of the SUV during the crash and fell into a water-filled area located directly below the bridge.
Local police and rescue teams launched an immediate search operation at the site. However, due to the darkness, they were unable to locate and recover Rizwan’s body during the night. The body was eventually recovered on Saturday morning with the help of fire and emergency services personnel.
The police have registered a case against Rizwan. Investigators noted that Rizwan was married and is survived by his wife and children. Saajiya was employed as a part-time worker at a private firm.
Speeding and reckless driving are suspected by the police to be the primary causes of the fatal crash. An officer noted that the solar-powered CCTV cameras installed on the Satellite Town Ring Road were not functioning at the time of the incident.
