CM Revanth Reddy's Flight Diverted to Bengaluru Amid Hyderabad Rains

An IndiGo flight carrying Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was diverted to Bengaluru on Friday night, June 12, 2026, after airport authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad denied landing clearance due to heavy rains.
The flight, which was operating from New Delhi to Hyderabad, was scheduled to land at the airport at 9:15 p.m. However, as severe weather conditions developed over the state capital, airport authorities refused permission for the aircraft to land, prompting the flight's diversion to Bengaluru.
Following the diversion, it was not immediately known whether Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would take a late-night flight back to Hyderabad or spend the night in Bengaluru.
The landing denial came as heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed Hyderabad on Friday night. The downpour led to severe traffic snarls and waterlogging on several roads. In response to the weather disruptions, authorities were attempting to clear vehicles that had become stranded on the roads.
