David Dhawan to direct Varun Dhawan in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood feature film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" has confirmed its central cast and plot details ahead of its scheduled release. Directed by David Dhawan, the film features Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside supporting actor Ali Asgar.

The comedy-drama revolves around the life of Jaswinder, widely known as Jass, portrayed by Varun Dhawan. Jass is a professional wedding photographer who meets Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, while working on the wedding of Bani's sister. Bani becomes charmed by Jass, and the two decide to marry.

The marriage runs smoothly for five years until a major disagreement arises between the couple. Bani asks Jass for a divorce because Jass strongly desires to have a child, whereas Bani is completely opposed to the idea of having children. This conflict leads them to court, where the presiding judge, played by Ali Asgar, steps in. Hoping that the husband and wife will eventually reconcile their differences, the judge decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period.

However, Bani remains firm in her decision and makes it clear that she wants a permanent separation. Following the heartbreak, Jass relocates to London to move on with his life. In London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and they begin dating.

Just as everything seems to be going well for Jass and Preet, Bani suddenly arrives at Jass's home in London. She shocks Jass by announcing that she is pregnant with his child. In a double twist, Preet also informs Jass on the exact same day that she is expecting his baby as well, setting up the main conflict of the film.

The production has released several promotional materials, including 63 photos and eight videos. Among the tracks featured in the movie is a song titled "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go". The film is set to be released in 2026.
