David Dhawan to Direct Varun Dhawan in Upcoming Film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood feature film *Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai*, directed by filmmaker David Dhawan, is officially scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026. The project stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, bringing together a story of love, separation, and unexpected family complications.

The plot of the film revolves around Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a professional wedding photographer. His life takes a turn when he is hired to work at a wedding for the sister of Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur. During the event, Jass falls for Bani, who is charmed by his personality, leading the couple to get married.

The story jumps five years into the marriage, where significant conflict arises between the couple. Bani decides to ask for a divorce because Jass strongly desires to have a child, while she remains completely against the idea. This disagreement leads them to court, where they appear before a judge played by Ali Asgar.

In an effort to save the marriage, the judge decides to annul the union after a six-month period, expressing hope that the husband and wife will find a way to reconcile. However, Bani remains clear and resolute about her decision to separate.

Following the separation, a heartbroken Jass decides to leave the country and shifts his base to London. While living abroad, he meets Preet, portrayed by Pooja Hegde. The two begin dating, and their relationship progresses smoothly until Jass's past catches up with him.

The conflict escalates when Bani unexpectedly travels to London and shows up at Jass's residence. She delivers the shocking news that she is pregnant with his child. In a dramatic turn of events, Preet also reveals to Jass on the exact same day that she is expecting his child, setting up the central conflict of the film.
