A domestic help who had been employed by a local family for over a decade has been accused of stealing approximately Rs 25 lakh from her employer's house in Jnanabharati Layout, Bengaluru. Following a complaint and a subsequent investigation into the incident, the Rajarajeshwarinagar police have successfully recovered Rs 15 lakh of the stolen money from the suspect's residence.

The significant theft came to light when the employer, a businessman named Bhadrirangan B, discovered that the substantial sum of money he had stored inside a wardrobe in his home had gone missing. According to the statement Bhadrirangan provided to the local police, the cash was the proceeds from the sale of a plot of land that had taken place nearly two years ago. He had been saving the accumulated funds specifically for the future purchase of a new property.

In his complaint, the businessman explained that the key to the wardrobe where the cash was secured was routinely stored in a drawer located near the television unit in the house. Upon realizing the money was gone, Bhadrirangan first questioned his family members, finding that neither his wife nor his mother had any knowledge regarding the missing cash.

To determine what had happened to the funds, Bhadrirangan proceeded to check the recorded footage from the home's CCTV security cameras. The surveillance footage reportedly revealed the domestic help, identified as Ratnamma, allegedly stealing the cash from the wardrobe on several different occasions.

Following the discovery, officers from the Rajarajeshwarinagar police station were notified and visited Ratnamma's house. Although Ratnamma herself was missing when the police arrived at the home, her daughter was present at the residence. The daughter admitted to the police that her mother had played a role in the theft. A subsequent search of the house by the police team led to the recovery of Rs 15 lakh in cash.
