DPS South Teacher Dies After Falling From Rapido Bike Taxi in JP Nagar

A 54-year-old school teacher died after falling from a Rapido bike taxi at Nandini Junction on 24th Main in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, late Sunday night. The victim, S Radha, was a resident of Arakere and worked as a teacher at Delhi Public School (South).
The fatal accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. as Radha was returning home. She had spent the evening visiting her friends and relatives in Nagarabhavi before booking the ride through the app-based bike-hailing service.
According to the police, Radha's ride was operated by a female Rapido driver, referred to as a lady captain. As the two-wheeler reached Nandini Junction in JP Nagar, Radha, who was sitting side-saddle with both of her legs on one side of the motorcycle, lost her balance and fell onto the road.
The fall caused the vehicle to destabilize, and the lady captain also fell off the motorcycle in the ensuing melee.
Investigating officers reported that both Radha and the driver were wearing half-helmets at the time of the accident. However, the impact of the fall left Radha with deep injuries on her nose and forehead, which led to severe internal bleeding.
Radha was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical care. Despite efforts to treat her injuries, she ultimately succumbed to her wounds at the healthcare facility.
