AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday condemned the recurring power cuts in Tamil Nadu, criticizing the government for failing to plan for the region's growing electricity demand.

In an official statement issued in Chennai, the opposition leader stated that the lack of adequate planning by the government has led to widespread power outages. These unannounced power cuts are reportedly causing significant disruption to daily life and economic activities.

Palaniswami highlighted that the unannounced outages are directly affecting households, small-scale industries, farmers, and students throughout the state. The disruptions are occurring alongside temperatures that have further heightened the need for a stable electricity supply.

The AIADMK leader alleged that the state administration failed to foresee the rising electricity requirements and did not take the necessary measures to secure the infrastructure needed to meet the demand.
