Four family members found dead in Washim's Tivli village in suspected suicide

Four members of a family, including a woman and two young children, were found dead in a suspected case of suicide in Tivli village, located in the Malegaon taluka of Washim district, Maharashtra. The tragic incident came to light on Sunday afternoon, June 14, 2026, prompting local authorities to launch an immediate investigation.
According to preliminary reports from the local police, the deceased individuals include a husband, his wife, their young son, and their daughter. Initial findings suggest that the husband was found hanging, while his wife and two children allegedly died after jumping into a nearby well.
The Shirpur Police Station received information regarding the incident at approximately 4:30 PM on Sunday. Following the alert, a police team led by PSI Tade and accompanied by other staff members quickly dispatched to the site in Tivli village to conduct a preliminary assessment of the situation.
Sub-Inspector Imran Pathan of the Shirpur Police Station confirmed the recovery of the bodies and details of the initial response. He stated that the police channel received information about a man who had hanged himself, and his wife, son, and daughter who had committed suicide by jumping into a well.
"Immediately, our officer, PSI Tade, along with our staff, visited the site and conducted a preliminary assessment," SI Pathan told reporters.
The police team managed to recover all four bodies from the well. The deceased have been transported to a local mortuary, where they will remain until medical examinations can be completed.
SI Pathan explained that the post-mortem examinations are scheduled to be performed on Monday. "For now, we have brought all four bodies to the mortuary. We will conduct an inquiry," he said. "The post-mortem is yet to be performed. The post-mortem will take place tomorrow. Only then will we be able to clarify exactly what happened to them."
The Shirpur police are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances that led to the deaths. No further details regarding the identities or ages of the deceased have been released by the authorities at this stage.
