On Sunday, four young Gen Z women students aspiring to build careers in public policy met with BRS working president KT Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. The interaction was held to discuss political leadership, governance, and to seek firsthand exposure to political and policy issues in the state.

The group of students comprised Sarayu, who will pursue Politics, Economics, and Philosophy at King’s College London; Laasya, a student set to join NALSAR University of Law; Revathi, who will study at Symbiosis Law School; and Ashni, a B.Com student at St. Francis College, Hyderabad.

Unlike the routine stream of party leaders, workers, and petitioners who typically visit the BRS headquarters, these four students approached Rama Rao with the specific objective of gaining exposure to politics and public leadership. They informed the BRS working president that they had been working together since their school days on policy discussions and social issues to contribute to societal change.

During the meeting, the students expressed their desire to actively engage with political and policy issues and eventually emerge as political leaders. They also expressed an interest in gaining practical exposure to political functioning at the grassroots level, requesting to work with Rama Rao and the BRS team at Telangana Bhavan to better understand the political landscape of Hyderabad and Telangana.

Rama Rao welcomed the initiative and assured the students of guidance and support during their learning process. He stated that he was pleasantly surprised by the confidence and clarity displayed by the young women, noting that their interest in public affairs and willingness to engage with governance issues reflected a positive trend among Gen Z youth.

The BRS working president assured them that opportunities would be provided to interact with his team and understand various aspects of governance and public policy. He emphasized that encouraging young people, particularly women, to participate in politics was essential for strengthening democratic institutions.

Following the interaction, the students described the meeting as inspiring and said it had strengthened their resolve to pursue public leadership in the future.
