Administrative and civic authorities in Gurugram, Haryana are shifting responsibility and passing blame over the installation and maintenance of streetlights across the city.

The ongoing dispute between the civic bodies has resulted in significant delays in the installation of streetlights. Because of these delays, many streets in the area remain poorly lit, which has created potential safety hazards for local residents and daily commuters.

While residents and commuters face dark streets, the administrative authorities have not yet resolved the issue of who is responsible for the upkeep and setting up of the streetlights, with different departments continuing to pass blame instead of addressing the infrastructure delays.
