Hanif Zaveri Claims Lucky Ali Caused Late Actor Mehmood Significant Pain

Veteran author Hanif Zaveri has claimed that singer-songwriter Lucky Ali caused his father, the late legendary comedian Mehmood, significant pain and personal turmoil during his younger years. Speaking on the Meri Saheli Podcast, Zaveri disclosed details regarding the strained family dynamics and personal conflicts between the iconic Bollywood actor and his children.
According to Zaveri, Mehmood was not happy with all of his children, many of whom were heavily dependent on him. Before achieving success in his music and acting career, Lucky Ali reportedly went through a highly difficult phase that caused his father immense distress.
Zaveri claimed that Mehmood's children frequently created problems at home, which disrupted the household. Zaveri stated that the children depended entirely on Mehmood, noting that if the actor brought something home, it would get sold. He added that family members would run away from home or create other issues, leading to constant turmoil.
The author also alleged that the domestic frustration occasionally led to physical discipline. Zaveri claimed that Mehmood had beaten Lucky Ali on certain occasions prior to his rise to fame, pointing to incidents like the selling of household belongings as sources of severe friction.
The veteran journalist noted that Mehmood frequently confided in those close to him about his family struggles. Mehmood reportedly lamented his situation, often stating that he was very troubled because of his son. Zaveri added that the children would repeatedly leave the house, causing ongoing anxiety for the veteran actor.
Financial issues also played a role in the family's strained relations. Zaveri claimed that Mehmood had distributed lakhs of rupees to his children to ensure their future and financial security. However, much of this money was reportedly squandered by some of the children and disappeared.
Zaveri attributed these deep-seated family issues to the difficult environment in which the children grew up. He explained that Mehmood and the children's mother had separated, the children were sent away to boarding schools, and Mehmood was constantly busy with his film commitments, leading to a broken family structure.
