Kangana Ranaut's Bharat Bhagya Vidhata Earns Rs 1 Crore on Opening Day

The opening day of Kangana Ranaut’s latest film, 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata', recorded a slow start at the box office, collecting around Rs 1 crore. Despite receiving positive reviews and positive word of mouth, the film failed to attract strong footfalls on its Day 1 release.
The film was released across 2,181 shows and recorded an overall occupancy of about 11 percent. Written and directed by Manoj Tapadia, 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata' is inspired by the events at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. The movie also stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, and Esha Dey.
During its theatrical debut, 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata' faced competition from Diljit Dosanjh’s 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' and Manoj Bajpayee’s 'Governor'. Dosanjh's 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' collected Rs 1.15 crore from 2,302 shows, while Bajpayee's 'Governor' earned around Rs 90 lakh from 1,427 shows.
The weak opening day collection adds to Ranaut’s long wait for a clear box-office hit. Her last major commercial success was 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' in 2015. Several of her later films, including 'Thalaivii' and 'Emergency', failed to make a strong impact despite creating considerable buzz. Her previous release, 'Emergency', opened at Rs 2.5 crore and finished its theatrical run with around Rs 23.81 crore.
The film’s weekend performance will now be crucial. While strong reviews and positive audience response could help 'Bharat Bhagya Vidhata' improve, the opening-day numbers have clearly put pressure on the Kangana Ranaut starrer.
