An MBBS student at KEM Hospital and Medical College in Mumbai has been barred from entering the campus and placed on a 15-day forced leave following an inquiry into a controversial joke about a male corpse's private parts.

The student, Dr. Sejal Pawar, became highly emotional and wept continuously during the questioning by the college administration's inquiry committee.

The disciplinary action represents the first official step taken by the college authorities against Pawar in connection with the controversial joke row. The investigation was launched after reports emerged of the student making inappropriate remarks regarding the private parts of a male corpse.

During the formal inquiry session, Pawar broke down and cried throughout the proceedings. In light of her emotional distress and continuous crying, the inquiry committee advised her to undergo professional counseling to help prevent depression.

To manage the situation, the KEM Hospital and Medical College administration has restricted Pawar's access to the facility. She has been barred from entering the college premises and sent on a mandatory 15-day forced leave.
