Kiran Abbavaram Launches Directorial Debut Film #KA13 In Hyderabad

Actor Kiran Abbavaram officially launched his directorial debut film project, tentatively titled #KA13, in Hyderabad on June 12, 2026. Abbavaram is directing, writing, and starring in the project, which is being promoted as a wholesome family entertainer. Immediately following the ceremonial launch event in the city, the production crew rolled cameras and commenced the first shooting schedule.
The project marks a significant milestone for Abbavaram, representing both his first time directing and the highest-budget film of his career to date. Having steadily built his career as an actor and writer, Abbavaram is significantly expanding his creative footprint by taking charge of the direction while also leading the project on screen. He has written the story and screenplay himself, turning the venture into a personal creative endeavour.
The venture also marks the production debut of prominent overseas film distributor Sudhakar Chaganti, who is producing the project under the Joy Films banner. Suresh Yerra is co-producing the film. The makers are investing heavily in the production, establishing it as the most expensive film in Abbavaram's career so far.
The production features a mix of fresh talent and veteran actors. Newcomer Devika Bhat is set to make her Tollywood debut as the female lead, while senior actors Sharat Kumar and Sai Kumar have been cast in pivotal roles. On the technical side, the film features cinematographer Viswas Daniel and music director Bheems Ceciroleo.
An announcement poster released by the makers features the tagline, “Ek Dum Bindass Pakaane Waale, And that’s #KA13 for you.” The poster depicts Abbavaram from the rear in a traditional avatar, standing before massive boiling cauldrons amidst swirling smoke and glowing fire. The rustic setting and commanding body language hint at a narrative connected to village culture and powerful emotions.
With the production mounted on an expansive scale and Abbavaram taking on multiple creative roles, the film aims to blend family emotions with contemporary storytelling.
