An elderly resident of Kukatpally, Hyderabad, was defrauded of ₹3.5 crore over the last couple of years by a couple who falsely promised to launch his son as a movie hero. The victim, identified as Hanumantha Rao, has approached the Hyderabad Police to recover his money after realizing he was scammed.

The accused individuals, identified as Ashok and Vijayalakshmi, claimed to operate a film production house under the name A4 Motion Pictures. Operating under the guise of established film producers, the couple allegedly approached Rao with a proposal to launch his son into the cinema industry.

According to the agreement, the production house promised to cast Rao's son as a lead actor. Ashok and Vijayalakshmi assured Rao that his son would be made into a major movie hero and that the film would generate massive profits. In exchange for this launch, they demanded that Rao pay ₹3.5 crore to fund the production of the movie.

Rao agreed to the terms and subsequently paid the couple over ₹3.5 crore in cash over the course of the last couple of years.

However, after realizing that he had been scammed and that no film was being produced, Rao confronted the couple to demand the return of his cash. Instead of returning the money, Ashok and Vijayalakshmi allegedly threatened him, stating they would dismantle his son's career and refusing to refund any of the funds.

With no other options remaining, Rao approached the Hyderabad Police to report the fraud and seek assistance in recovering his lost money. The case highlights the ongoing issue of fraudsters exploiting aspiring actors and their families by selling false promises of entry into the glamorous film industry.
