Labourer Suryanarayana Dies of Electric Shock While Trimming Trees in Alwal

A 45-year-old daily wage labourer died on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, after suffering a fatal electric shock while trimming tree branches in MES Colony, Alwal, Hyderabad. The victim, identified as Suryanarayana, was electrocuted when the branches he was cutting came into contact with live power lines.
The incident took place in the residential area of MES Colony in Alwal. Suryanarayana had been engaged to trim tree branches situated in front of an apartment building. While he was executing the task, the branches he was cutting reportedly came into contact with the nearby overhead power lines, leading to a massive electric shock.
Following the incident, local residents who were present in the area immediately alerted the authorities. A team of police officers from the Alwal Police Station arrived at the spot shortly after receiving the information. The police took charge of the scene and began their preliminary investigations into the tragic accident.
Suryanarayana worked as a daily wage labourer to earn a living and provide for his family. His untimely demise has left his family devastated. He is survived by his wife and his three sons.
The Alwal Police are currently investigating the case to understand the circumstances that led to the fatal electrocution. Officers have taken up the investigation to complete the necessary legal formalities.
