Man Booked in Dahisar for Stalking and Demanding Sexual Favors from Woman

The Dahisar Police have registered a criminal case against an unnamed man for allegedly stalking, defaming, and demanding sexual favors from a 40-year-old woman in the Dahisar vegetable market and Borivali RTO areas of Mumbai. The First Information Report (FIR) was registered on June 5, 2026, following a formal complaint by the victim.
The complainant works at a cooperative credit society where she is involved in financial collection work. Her daily job duties typically require her to visit the Dahisar vegetable market area and the Borivali RTO area. Her husband works as a tempo driver.
According to the police complaint, the accused first accosted the woman at the Dahisar vegetable market area in April 2026 while she was performing her collection duties. The man accused her of possessing two autorickshaw permits in her name. He then told her to meet him alone in the evening if she wanted to prevent news reports about the dual permits from appearing in local news outlets.
The woman did not go to meet him. Subsequently, on April 27, 2026, a news report about her alleged dual permits was published in a local news publication. Despite this, the woman still refused to meet the man, who continued to stalk her frequently at her place of work.
On May 19, 2026, the woman registered a non-cognisable complaint against the man at the MHB Colony police station after he harassed her near the Borivali RTO area.
The confrontation escalated on June 3, 2026, when the woman spotted the man again at the Dahisar vegetable market area. When she warned him to stop stalking her, the accused allegedly demanded sexual favors. After she questioned his remarks, he used expletives, made derogatory remarks, and threatened to publish more news stories to defame her.
The woman then approached the Dahisar police station to lodge a formal complaint. The police registered the FIR under charges of sexual harassment, stalking, intimidation, and defamation, and are currently probing the case.
