MBBS Student Sejal Pawar Sent On Forced Leave Over Male Corpse Joke Row

An MBBS student at KEM Hospital and Medical College in Mumbai has been barred from entering the institution and sent on a 15-day forced leave. The disciplinary action against the student, Sejal Pawar, follows an escalating controversy over a joke about the private parts of a male corpse.
The college administration initiated the action after a video clip from a stand-up comedy show went viral. The video featured remarks that triggered a widespread row, leading to immediate administrative consequences for Pawar.
As part of the disciplinary measures, Pawar has been restricted from entering the KEM Hospital campus, the medical college, and the hostel premises. This marks the first official action taken by the college authorities against her in connection with the controversy.
In addition to the college's internal action, a case has been filed against Pawar for making derogatory remarks during the stand-up comedy show. The case also names Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra in connection with the same performance.
The administration's decision to temporarily bar the student from the campus and hostel premises comes amid growing scrutiny over the remarks made during the comedy show.
