Rajnath Singh warns India will block Sindhu waters from reaching terror sponsors

On Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared in Hyderabad that the Indian government will not allow the waters of the Sindhu (Indus) river to flow to terror sponsors in Pakistan.
Speaking at an 'Intellectuals Meet' organised by the Telangana BJP, Singh condemned Pakistan's continued support for cross-border terrorism and outlined India's firm diplomatic and military stance.
Singh highlighted "Operation Sindoor" as a demonstration of India's resolve, stating that the nation knows how to respond to those who do not understand the language of peace. He criticised opposition leaders, including those from the Congress party, for questioning the operation and the bravery of Indian soldiers.
According to the Defence Minister, India warned that it would stop the supply of grain and water to Pakistan if terror attacks against India continued. He specifically referenced the Pahalgam terror attack, noting that India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty in its aftermath.
"After the Pahalgam terror attack, by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, we said that those whose tears have dried up should not expect water from us," Singh said during the meeting. He added that the enemies of humanity should not expect Sindhu waters.
Beyond water sharing, Singh spoke about India's growing global influence and military capabilities. He described India as a "vishwa bandhu" (friend of the world) for its global assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic, but cautioned that the country possesses both vaccines and BrahMos missiles.
Addressing the country's economic and defence progress over the last 11 years under the NDA government, Singh stated that India's defence production has reached Rs 1.50 lakh crore and is expected to rise to Rs 1.7 lakh crore within a month. He noted that India now exports Rs 39,000 crore worth of defence items to 100 countries.
Additionally, Singh defended the BJP's governance, highlighting the abolition of Article 370 in Kashmir, the decline of Naxalism, the implementation of GST, and nationwide electrification. He stated that Kashmir is now experiencing growth in tourism, investment, and employment, rather than terrorism.
