The rural action-sports drama film Peddi, starring Ram Charan, has secured the biggest opening weekend box office collections of the lead actor's career, grossing approximately Rs 250 crore worldwide in its first four days of release. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film achieved exceptional theatrical runs in the Telugu states and showed steady growth in North India over the extended weekend in June 2026.
The film is now heading toward the Rs 300 crore gross mark globally. In addition to its strong domestic performance, Peddi is experiencing an excellent theatrical run in international markets. In North America, the movie is rapidly approaching the $3 million mark.
While the film had a comparatively moderate opening in North India, it has witnessed steady day-on-day growth. A strong upward trend on Sunday indicated a rising level of audience interest across the northern region.
Ram Charan’s performance in this rustic drama has been widely praised as the film’s strongest asset, earning unanimous appreciation from audiences across the country. Moviegoers have hailed his portrayal as the best of his career, with many anticipating that the actor will win several awards for the role. Ram Charan plays a unique, first-of-its-kind role in the sports drama, appearing in distinctive looks.
The project is backed by presenters Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner. During its production phase, the film's team held a crucial shooting schedule in Hyderabad. For this leg of the shoot, a specially constructed train set was built to film an intense, first-of-its-kind train stunt sequence featuring Ram Charan.
Based on its opening weekend momentum, industry tracking suggests the film is poised to maintain a solid run during the weekdays.
