Realtors Protest Prohibited Land Status at CM Revanth Reddy Meeting in Uppal

Tension erupted at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s public meeting in Uppal, Hyderabad, on Sunday, June 8, 2026, as members of the Telangana Realtors Association staged a protest. The demonstrators protested against the categorization of their lands as prohibited and demanded the immediate removal of restrictions on litigation-free plots.
The protest began suddenly just after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy commenced his address to the gathering. Members of the association, who were present at the public venue, stood up and began holding up placards while raising loud slogans against the land classification.
A brief struggle ensued at the venue as police personnel deployed for security tried to control the situation. The officers attempted to stop the protesting association representatives and tried to snatch the placards from their hands. However, the demonstrators did not relent and continued their loud sloganeering during the meeting.
The core of the realtors' grievance lies in the Narapally Sub Registrar Office limits, where they expressed concern that many plots have been placed under the prohibited lands category. The association representatives argued that placing entire survey numbers under the prohibited category due to disputes on only a few plots is highly objectionable. They explained that because a small number of plots are facing legal litigations, the authorities have restricted transactions for all lands falling under those entire survey numbers.
This decision has effectively frozen transactions for many landowners whose properties are otherwise clear of any disputes. In light of this, the Telangana Realtors Association demanded that the state government issue clear orders to officials to permit transactions for plots that are entirely free from any legal or other litigation. Furthermore, they urged the Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector to review and reconsider the decision of placing these plots under the prohibited lands category.
