Tollywood Casting Coordinator Prasad Booked For Harassing Actress In Banjara Hills

The Banjara Hills police have registered a case against a Tollywood casting coordinator, Prasad, for allegedly physically harassing an upcoming actress and withholding her pending payments of Rs 1,28,000. The incident, which was reported on June 15, 2026, has prompted a formal police investigation in the Banjara Hills neighborhood of Hyderabad.
According to the official complaint, the upcoming actress had secured a role in the film Aakasamlo Oka Tara with the assistance of Prasad, who worked as a casting coordinator. In the film project, she played a character that was close to the main heroine.
While the shooting for her specific role in the film was completed several months ago, the actress alleged that her financial dues remained entirely unpaid. The pending amount consists of Rs 90,000 towards her acting remuneration and an additional Rs 38,000 towards her travel expenses.
Despite sending multiple reminders to the casting coordinator, the accused allegedly kept postponing the payments. The actress stated that Prasad failed to offer any clear explanation for the delay in releasing the total sum of Rs 1,28,000.
The situation escalated when Prasad reportedly called the actress for a meeting, claiming it was on the pretext of clearing her pending dues. However, instead of settling the payments, the accused allegedly physically harassed the actress. During the encounter, he also allegedly promised her future opportunities and bigger roles in Tollywood.
After the incident, the actress discussed the matter with her family members. Following their discussions, she decided to approach the local authorities to seek legal action and personal protection.
The Banjara Hills police officially registered a criminal case against Prasad and launched an active investigation into the allegations. The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing issues of harassment, exploitation, and unpaid financial dues faced by newcomers navigating the film industry.
