Two Arrested After Masjid Bunder Man Stabbed Over Mumbai Local Train Seat

A 26-year-old resident of Masjid Bunder was stabbed in the stomach and assaulted aboard a moving Mumbai local train following a sudden argument over a seat near Vangani station on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Satish Kumar Bolamani Pathak, was traveling on a local train heading from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Khopoli when he was targeted by a group of youths inside the luggage compartment of the train.
According to officials from the Government Railway Police (GRP), the violent altercation broke out shortly after the train crossed the Vangani station. Pathak reportedly got into a verbal dispute with the group of youths regarding a seat in the luggage compartment. The argument quickly escalated into a severe physical fight, during which the accused youths began to assault Pathak. During the course of the physical struggle, one of the attackers drew a knife and stabbed Pathak directly in the stomach.
Pathak sustained serious injuries from the stabbing and the subsequent physical assault. He was rushed to a medical facility and is currently undergoing treatment for his wounds.
Following the attack, the Karjat GRP immediately registered a case and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers. Acting on a tip-off, the railway police successfully tracked down and arrested two of the primary suspects within 12 hours of the incident.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 18-year-old Imran Idris Ansari, who is a resident of Neral, and 22-year-old Karan Kanhaiyalal Agrawal, a resident of Shelu. Both of the arrested suspects are currently being held in police custody as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, police authorities have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest a third accused individual who was also involved in the assault on Pathak. The Karjat GRP confirmed that further investigation into the stabbing and the seat dispute is currently in progress.
