An alleged ragging incident at a private medical college hostel in Posheri village of Wada taluka, Palghar district, has led to the suspension of two college staffers after a female student was reportedly forced to perform namaz. The incident, which took place on Sunday night, has triggered a major controversy on the campus.

Following the allegations, the college administration suspended a hostel warden and a teacher. The victim, a female student residing at the hostel, was allegedly subjected to ragging and coerced into performing the religious prayer.

The incident led to tension on the campus of the private medical institute, drawing protests from right-wing groups. In response to the growing unrest, police personnel were deployed to the college premises to maintain order and prevent any further disturbance.

The local police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday night. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, with early findings being analyzed to determine the sequence of events and the roles of the accused staffers.
