The upcoming Bollywood feature film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" is scheduled for theatrical release in 2026, bringing a new comedy-drama to Mumbai's cinema screens. Directed by David Dhawan, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, alongside supporting actor Ali Asgar.

The plot of the film follows the tumultuous personal life of Jaswinder Singh, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a wedding photographer in Mumbai, where he meets Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, during her sister's wedding. The two quickly marry, but the relationship encounters a major hurdle five years later.

Bani decides to seek a divorce because Jass is eager to start a family and have a child, an idea to which Bani is strongly opposed. During the legal proceedings, a judge, played by Ali Asgar, decides to grant a six-month annulment period in the hope that the couple will reconcile their differences.

Despite the judge's intervention, Bani remains firm in her decision to separate. Following the heartbreak, Jass decides to relocate to London to rebuild his life. While in London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating.

The narrative takes a dramatic turn when Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's residence in London to announce that she is pregnant with his child. On the exact same day, Preet also informs Jass that she is expecting a baby, setting up the central conflict of the comedy.

Ahead of its 2026 release, promotional materials for the film have begun circulating, including the track "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go" and various promotional stills featuring Pooja Hegde. A total of 63 photos and eight videos have been prepared as part of the initial promotional campaign for the film.
