Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur to Star in 2026 Film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

MUMBAI — Director David Dhawan is set to helm the upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai," which is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026. The film features a lead cast of Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, weaving a story around relationships, marriage, and unexpected pregnancies.

The plot of "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" revolves around Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass is a professional wedding photographer who falls in love with Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, while working at her sister's wedding. After being charmed by him, Bani marries Jass, but their relationship faces a major hurdle five years later.

Bani decides to ask for a divorce because Jass desires to have a child, while she remains strongly opposed to the idea. The legal proceedings bring them before a judge, played by Ali Asgar, who grants a six-month annulment period in the hope that the couple might reconcile their differences. Despite this, Bani remains firm in her decision to separate.

Following the heartbreak, Jass relocates to London to start a new chapter. There, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating. Their relationship progresses smoothly until a sudden turn of events complicates Jass's life.

On the exact same day, Jass is confronted by both women. Bani arrives at his London residence to announce that she is pregnant with his child, while Preet also reveals that she is expecting. The film explores the chaotic aftermath of these simultaneous developments.
