Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur to star in 2026 film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" has revealed its official storyline and cast details ahead of its scheduled release in 2026. Directed by David Dhawan, the romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in leading roles.

The film's plot centers on Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan, who works as a wedding photographer. Jass falls in love with Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, after meeting her while working at her sister's wedding. Bani is charmed by Jass, and the couple eventually marries.

The story takes a turn five years into their marriage when Bani asks for a divorce. The separation is triggered by Jass's desire to have a child, an idea that Bani strongly opposes. A judge, portrayed by Ali Asgar, decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period, holding onto the hope that the couple might reconcile. Bani, however, remains firm in her decision to separate.

Following the heartbreak, Jass relocates to London, where he meets and begins dating Preet, played by Pooja Hegde. Their relationship progresses smoothly until Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's residence in London. Bani announces that she is pregnant with his child. In a dramatic turn of events on the exact same day, Preet also informs Jass that she is expecting a child with him. The narrative of the film explores the consequences of these simultaneous pregnancies.
