The official plot and cast details for the upcoming Bollywood film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' have been revealed in Mumbai. Directed by veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, the romantic comedy is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026. The movie features an ensemble cast starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

The storyline follows the life of Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a professional wedding photographer. His life takes a turn when he is hired to shoot a wedding for the sister of a woman named Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur. Jass falls in love with Bani during the event, and after charming her, the two decide to get married.

However, the marital bliss does not last. Five years into the marriage, Bani asks Jass for a divorce. The central conflict arises from their differing views on starting a family; Jass is eager to have a child, whereas Bani is completely against the idea.

The legal proceedings bring them before a judge, played by actor Ali Asgar. In an effort to give the couple a chance to save their marriage, the judge decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period, hoping the couple will reconcile. Despite this cooling-off period, Bani remains firm in her decision to separate from Jass.

Following the heartbreak, Jass decides to relocate to London to start afresh. While living in London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating. Their relationship progresses smoothly until Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's home in London.

Bani surprises Jass by announcing that she is pregnant with his child. In a double twist, Preet also informs Jass on the very same day that she is expecting a baby as well. The film explores the chaotic events that unfold after both women reveal their pregnancies.

The promotional campaign for the 2026 release has commenced, with the filmmakers releasing 63 promotional photos and eight videos. The film's soundtrack will feature a track titled 'Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go.'
