Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde to Star in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai," directed by David Dhawan and starring Varun Dhawan, has revealed its official plot synopsis ahead of its scheduled 2026 release in Mumbai. The film, which features a prominent cast including Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, is set to bring a new romantic comedy-drama to audiences.

The story centers on Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a professional wedding photographer. During a wedding assignment for the sister of a woman named Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, Jass falls in love. Bani is charmed by him, and the two eventually get married.

However, the relationship faces severe strain five years into the marriage. Bani asks for a divorce because Jass wants to have a child, an idea that Bani strongly opposes. The legal battle brings them before a judge, played by Ali Asgar, who decides to annul the marriage after six months. The judge grants this period in the hope that the couple will reconcile their differences, but Bani remains firm in her decision to separate.

Following the separation, a heartbroken Jass decides to leave and shifts to London. In London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating.

The plot takes a dramatic turn when Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's residence in London and announces that she is pregnant with his child. On the exact same day, Preet also informs Jass that she is expecting a baby, leaving him to deal with two pregnant partners.

Promotional materials for the film have begun circulating, including 63 photos and eight videos. Among the promotional tracks is a song titled "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go."

The film is currently trending online alongside other upcoming Bollywood projects, including "Cocktail 2," "Governor," "Welcome To The Jungle," "Alpha," and "Dhamaal 4." "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" is slated for a theatrical release in 2026.
