Varun Dhawan to Star in David Dhawan Comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

Details of the upcoming Bollywood film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" have been revealed ahead of its scheduled 2026 release. Directed by David Dhawan, the romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, alongside actor Ali Asgar.

The film's plot centers on Jaswinder, also known as Jass (played by Varun Dhawan), who works as a wedding photographer. Jass falls in love with Bani (played by Mrunal Thakur) while photographing her sister's wedding. Bani is charmed by him, and the couple eventually marries.

However, the marriage faces a major hurdle five years later. Bani asks for a divorce because Jass wants to have a child, an idea that she strongly opposes. During the legal proceedings, the judge, portrayed by Ali Asgar, decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period, hoping the couple will reconcile. Despite the court's intervention, Bani remains clear that she wants a permanent separation.

A heartbroken Jass decides to leave and shifts to London. While living there, he meets Preet (played by Pooja Hegde) and the two begin dating. Their relationship progresses smoothly until Bani suddenly arrives at Jass's residence in London and announces that she is pregnant with his child. In a compounding twist, Preet also informs Jass on the very same day that she is expecting his child as well.

In addition to the plot details, promotional media for the film has been prepared, including the song "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go," which features Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde.
