Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Award Scholarships to 180 Tummanpet Students

On June 14, 2026, actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna awarded merit scholarships to 180 high-achieving local students at a community event in Tummanpet, located in the Achampeta mandal of Telangana. The initiative was designed to recognize and support outstanding academic talent in the region, which is also the hometown of Vijay's father, Govardhan Rao.

The project is deeply personal for Vijay, who expressed that returning to his father's roots to honor these students was an emotional milestone. The local community gathered in Tummanpet to celebrate the event, where both actors shared the list of scholarship recipients on the social platform X and met with the young achievers in person.

Speaking at the gathering, Vijay Deverakonda outlined his future vision for the academic initiative. "We started supporting talented students by providing scholarships in my village. Slowly, I want to extend this to next mandals in the district and one day, I hope to extend this support across Telangana," he said.

Vijay also shared words of encouragement, telling the students that neither he nor Rashmika were top academic rankers during their school days, but asserted that anyone can achieve major goals if they maintain discipline in their lives. He added that he wanted to celebrate their young talents and remain a part of their future.

Rashmika Mandanna also spoke to motivate the students. "We win sometimes in life and sometimes, we meet with the failure but what is important is to learn from both the situations," she said.

The scholarship program aims to provide vital financial and academic support, encouraging students to go the extra mile to achieve their dreams. This is not the first time Vijay has engaged in community support, having previously provided assistance to people during the COVID-19 crisis.
