Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna Award Scholarships to 180 Tummanpet Students

On June 14, 2026, actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna presented merit scholarships to 180 high-achieving students during a community event in Tummanpet, located within the Achampeta mandal of Telangana. The initiative was designed to recognize and support outstanding academic talent among local children, marking the beginning of an educational support program in the region.

The event held a deep personal significance for Deverakonda, as Tummanpet is the hometown of his father, Govardhan Rao. Returning to his roots to honor these local students was described by the actor as an emotional milestone. To mark the occasion, the local community gathered to celebrate the initiative alongside the two actors.

Prior to the gathering, Deverakonda and Mandanna shared the list of selected merit scholarship recipients on the social media platform X. During the event, both actors spoke directly to the students to offer encouragement and share their personal philosophies on success.

Addressing the gathering, Deverakonda expressed his hope to scale up the scholarship program in the future. He stated that while the initiative has started by supporting talented students in his father's village, he plans to expand the outreach gradually. He noted his goal to first extend the scholarships to neighboring mandals within the district, with the ultimate aim of providing academic support across the entire state of Telangana.

Deverakonda also told the students that neither he nor Mandanna were academic rankers during their school days. However, he emphasized that anyone can achieve significant goals in life if they maintain discipline. He added that he wanted to celebrate the young talents and actively be a part of their future.

Mandanna also spoke to motivate the gathered children, offering advice on how to handle life's challenges. She told the students, "We win sometimes in life and sometimes, we meet with the failure but what is important is to learn from both the situations."

This educational initiative is not the first time Deverakonda has engaged in community support programs. The actor previously provided assistance to people during the COVID-19 crisis. The current scholarship program aims to provide direct financial and academic backing to help local children achieve their dreams.
