On June 11, 2026, the Warangal Warriors cricket franchise unveiled an ambitious long-term vision and grassroots sports development roadmap during an event in Hyderabad. The initiative, led by marquee player Mohammed Siraj, aims to scout and mentor young cricket talent across Telangana to build a pathway to the Indian Premier League and the Indian national team.

The launch event was attended by prominent local officials, including Mr. Naini Rajender Reddy, MLA of Warangal West, and Mrs. Chahat Bajpai, IAS, who serves as the Collector of Hanumakonda and Commissioner of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC). Other key attendees included Karnati Varun Reddy, IAS, CMD of TGNPDCL, and Sunpreet Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Hanumakonda.

Warangal Warriors co-owners Varun Jupally, Phani Chitneni, and Dheeraj Induru also graced the occasion to outline their plans. Backed by M/s Bain Global Resources Pvt. Ltd., the team is one of the eight founding franchises of the TG20 Cricket League, which is organised by the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

Under the newly announced roadmap, the franchise plans to invest in world-class sporting facilities and training ecosystems in Warangal. This infrastructure aims to provide local athletes with development opportunities that rival the best training centers in the country.

In addition to establishing training facilities, the franchise outlined its competitive TG20 campaign strategy. The team's squad features marquee player Mohammed Siraj alongside Aman Rao Perala and other rising cricket talents from the region.

According to a media release from the franchise, securing a player of Siraj's stature demonstrates their intent to compete at the highest level. However, they emphasized that their larger mission is to leave a lasting legacy by building a sustainable talent pipeline that will inspire young athletes from Warangal and Telangana to one day represent India.
